World of Jenks

Recently I have been watching a lot of this new show called "World of Jenks"

When I first saw the promotional video for it, i thought it looked really stupid, just another one of those shock value MTV shows.

And it is one of those shows, but it's great. Really, this is a great great show. Basically, this 24 year old film-maker goes into peoples lives and learns about them. Some examples of people who he has had this life-interview with are: Maino (the rapper), a UFC fighter, a homeless woman (houseless according to her), and an animal protection lady. But my favorite was his time with Chad, a 20 year old with autism. I have never really seen past the surface when I encounter people with autism, and this episode real opened my eyes. If you don't watch the show, at least watch that one episode.

Now, one possible downside to the future of this show is that I can see many people not loving Andrew Jenks, the host/producer guy. At most times he seems very nice, but genuine? Not completely. It is very hard to get to know Jenks and who he is, even from watching him over and over again. Which is ironic. A little.

If you like true life, you will probably like this. Some say it is too short, I disagree. It's on MTV. Watch.
